Bridge Collapsed on Baspa River Kinnaur Himachal Pradesh

In Kinnaur district, a vehicle of tourists coming from Chitkul to Sangla was hit by a landslide after rocks fell near Gunsa in Batseri.

Nine people were killed and three seriously injured in a landslide in Himachal Pradesh's Kinnaur district. According to the information received, a vehicle of tourists coming from Chitkul to Sangla was hit by a landslide due to the falling of rocks near Gunsa of Batseri in the Kinnaur district. Nine were killed and three were injured when a stone fell on the vehicle. It is being told that the tourists in the car had come to visit Himachal from Delhi and Chandigarh.

Kinnaur DC Abid Hussain Sadiq was present

Police and administration teams have reached the spot as soon as the information about the accident is received. Congress MLA Jagat Singh Negi said that stones are falling continuously from the hill, due to which there is a problem in the rescue. He said that a helicopter has been sought from the government to lift the injured to the hospital, which has been assured to reach soon. Kinnaur DC Abid Hussain Sadiq, SP SR Rana is also present on the spot.

There is screaming at the spot. The people of Batseri are engaged in the rescue along with the police. Due to the landslide, the bridge built on the Baspa river for the village has been broken, due to which the village has been cut off from the world. According to the information received, many vehicles have also been damaged due to landslides including rocks falling from the mountain.

Cloudburst is being restored

At the same time, the cloud burst on Saturday midnight in Kaza's Lara drain falling under National Highway 505 Kaza-Samdo. After heavy rain, the drain was flooded due to cloudburst. However, there was no loss of life due to the cloudburst. But the road has been badly damaged. Due to which more than 50 vehicles are also stuck on both sides of the road here.

All these vehicles will be able to pass through Lara Nala only after the road is restored. As soon as the cloudburst was reported, the BRO team started the road restoration work. Efforts are on to restore the road by installing the machinery. However, in view of the rain in the tribal areas, the administration has appealed to the tourists and local people to take precautions. People have been asked to stay away from rivers and streams. Deputy Commissioner Neeraj Kumar said that the road which was damaged due to the cloudburst is being restored.
