It was an Official Winter call in the Capital of India.

On Sunday, it was recorded in the national capital that it was the coldest December morning in the past 12 years with mercury plummeting to 3.7 degree Celsius. A light cover of fog also evolves in the city, which reducing the visibility of people.

Delhi people woke up to the chilliest December morning in the capital in four years on Sunday, with the temperature dipping to 3.7°C, as the cold wave sweeping across north India entered its fourth day.

The city can expect a typically cold and freezing run-up to New Year, as the Met office has forecast below-normal night temperatures continuing more or less for the rest of the month.

Earlier, the second lowest minimum temperature for the month was recorded on 29th December, 2017, at 3.9°C, according to the data available with the India Metrological Department (IMD).

The all-time lowest temperature in the national capital for the month of December was 1.1°C recorded on 26th December, 1945, by the data.

The Sunday morning was cover with fog around the city with no visibility. As the day recorded in-the progress, it has likely become partly cloudy.

As per the earlier data available with Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi continued to breathe 'very poor' air with Air Quality Index.

Neighbouring Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan are also experiencing biting cold.

Haze will also appear in this morning.

Delhi people are experiencing a cold December after witnessing three consecutive years of mild weather during the month. The average minimum temperature so far this month is around a degree lower than normal.
