Before the Supreme Court's decision in the Ayodhya case, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday asked its party workers and spokespersons to refrain from making emotional and inflammatory statements in the Ram Mandir case. The party has also told its leaders not to comment on the issue until Prime Minister Narendra Modi or Party President Amit Shah makes a statement in this regard and reacts in accordance with the statements of Modi and Shah.
A few days ago the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh(RSS) had issued a similar consultation to its promoters. Senior RSS officials had recently said in a meeting that the victory celebration should not be celebrated and the procession should not be taken if the Ram Mandir verdict comes in favor.
BJP's social media unit chief Amit Malviya also briefed the party's social media teams about how to avoid making controversial statements on such forums. It is worth noting that in Mann Ki Baat program on October 27, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had reminded that when the Allahabad High Court verdict in the Ayodhya case was going to come in 2010, then how the political parties and civil society people have shown patience and restraint. Even the BJP has denied its spokespersons to participate in the media debates. BJP does not want any wrong statement made by the spokesmen before any decision in the Ayodhya case.
