In Kolkata, Bharatiya Janata Party workers have demonstrated against the Mamta's government. During this time, the police has used water canon on the Bharatiya Janata Party workers. The activists are protesting against the increase in electricity prices.

Preparations have been made to file a petition in the High Court against the BJP police for hiding the body of dead BJP worker Swaroop Gorai of Nanur in Birbhum district. The BJP will file a petition on Wednesday when the High Court is closed due to Muharram on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, BJP workers in Kolkata have demonstrated against the Mamta government. During this time, police has used water canon on BJP workers. Activists are protesting against the hike in electricity prices.

The police used force on the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha workers protesting against the rise in electricity prices today. Many workers have been seriously injured in lathicharge. A worker was beheaded by police strikes. According to BJP leaders, many workers have been injured. The condition of 5 of them is critical. The injured have been admitted to the Calcutta Medical College and Hospital and Vishuddhanand Hospital. Activists were marching towards the CESC headquarters at Victoria House at the call of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, but the police stopped them at Central Avenue.

The BJP workers were trying to break through the barricade and then the police used lathi-charge and used strong force of water. Tear gases were also released during this period. The BJP workers started shoving with the police. On seeing this, the area was transformed into a battlefield. With this, police have arrested about one hundred activists including Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha state president Devjit Sarkar and BJP state general secretary Raju Banerjee. The BJYM alleges that their activists were protesting in a peaceful manner, but the police raided them. Several workers have been injured. One worker is severed and has been hospitalized in critical condition.
