Bharatiya Janata Party MP Raju Bisht has demanded a probe alleging rigging in the distribution of ration to the poor during the lockdown in West Bengal. BJP MP from Darjeeling Raju Bisht wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday complaining about not providing ration to the poor. He has sent a team from the Center and demanded a ration distribution check. Bisht has said that action should be taken against the rigged under National Security Act (NSA).

Bisht said, 'A notification was issued by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution on March 30, 2020, according to which the government arranged to provide five kg of extra wheat, rice and one kg of pulses to the families affected by the lockdown, but the instructions of the central government are being violated in West Bengal. Purchase rules are not being followed, there is discrimination in distribution of ration. The people of Darjeeling are still complaining about not getting ration, all rice mills are on paper only. The state government is rigging the ration distribution. '

The BJP MP in a letter to Prime Minister Modi has asked him to order the state government to release food grains to the poor. He said that the central government should send supervisors in the state to get food stocks checked. There should be a system of verification of ration distribution. If disturbances arise, action should be taken against the concerned under the National Security Act. Bisht said, "Today I wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and also spoke to West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar. They complained of disturbances in ration distribution under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana in West Bengal.
