Let us tell you that on the very first day of the monsoon session of Parliament, 56 people including 25 MPs got infected with the coronavirus. These MPs were tested in Parliament House on 13 and 14 September. Apart from MPs, these include officers, employees and media persons working in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha houses. The 17 MPs are from the Lok Sabha and eight from the Rajya Sabha. All these infected MPs have been advised to remain in home isolation.
359 members took part in the proceedings of the Lok Sabha
On the first day, 359 members took part in the proceedings of the Lok Sabha. For the first time, the Question Hour did not take place in the proceedings of the Lok Sabha. The opposition created uproar and called it against democracy. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla allowed the MPs to sit on their seats. In the four-hour proceedings, all the MPs sat and asked questions. All MPs were seen wearing masks and gloves. The MP was sitting after making a distance of two yards.
MPs from all over the country are participating in the monsoon session, but this time the corona test is required of the MPs before attending the session. All these MPs have been tested in the Parliament House complex.
