Yash Chopra was the brother of famous filmmaker BR Chopra. When the partition happened, Yash had to come to Mumbai to be with his brother. By that time many film journalists and then filmmakers had already been established in the film industry. BR Chopra had also directed many great films and made his own identity. It is said that Yash Chopra’s father had a dream to become an engineer but luck had something else for him. He became interested in films like his brother and started assisting him in directing films with BR Chopra. Yash Chopra had told in an interview that Vajyanti Mala had already recognized his talent and told him to focus on film direction.

Yash Chopra made many tremendous films in his career like ‘Kala Patthar’, ‘Trishul’, ‘Darr’, ‘Veer Zara’, ‘Daag’, ‘Joshele’, ‘Deewar’, ‘Silsila’. He made everyone from Amitabh Bachchan to Shahrukh Khan a hero in films. He made the film ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ with Shahrukh and announced that this would be his last film. After this, he suddenly died and it became the last film of his career.
