Bihar: Gandak River Flows crosses the danger level, threat of Flood to 9 Districts

Many rivers including the Gandak are flowing above the danger mark here. The threat of flood has increased in six blocks of the Gopalganj district.

The effect of heavy rains in the Terai and hilly areas of Nepal for the last two days is being seen in the border areas of Bihar. Many rivers including the Gandak are flowing above the danger mark here. The threat of flood has increased in six blocks of the Gopalganj district. There are reports of floodwater entering most of the villages under the dam. Residents living on the banks of the river are migrating to higher places. The Meteorological Department has issued a high alert in these areas. Seven districts including Patna have been put on red alert.

Here, IMD said that light to moderate rain may occur in many parts of the country on Thursday. There is a possibility of rain in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, UP, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, and Karnataka. Light rain is expected in the capital of Delhi for the next few days. There will be a wait of 7 to 10 days for monsoon rains. Due to westerly winds, the speed of arrival of monsoon in North-West India has been affected.

Bihar: Gandak river in spate, red alert of heavy rain even today

There is a threat of flood in Bihar. Due to the rising water in the Gandak river, water entered many areas of Saran as well as East and West Champaran. An alert has also been issued for heavy rains in East-West Champaran and Gopalganj districts and in the entire Bihar till June 18. At present, rain is continuing in 38 districts of the state. It has been raining intermittently since Wednesday afternoon in Patna. Seven districts of the state have been put on red alert. These include Patna, Gaya, Nawada, Nalanda, Sheikhpura, Begusarai, and Lakhisarai. Here, water has entered dozens of villages of Bettiah. Gandak, Budhi Gandak, Harboda, Balor, Masan, Ramrekha, Kohra, Katha, Ganguly, Dohram and Pandai rivers flooded in Bettiah. Bettiah has recorded 195 mm of rain.

Administratively, this time also an alert has been made regarding the districts affected by the floods. NDRF has swung into action in view of the increasing threat of floods. 10 different teams have been deployed in 9 districts including Patna. Teams of the 9th Battalion from the headquarters at Bihta were sent to Araria, Supaul, Kishanganj, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj, Motihari, Bettiah, and Patna districts. Each team command of NDRF is given in the hands of the Senior Inspector. A total of 13 senior inspectors are leading all 10 teams. There are 35 to 37 people in each team including officers and jawans.

Madhya Pradesh: Tikamgarh receives a maximum of 52mm rain, thunderstorms likely in many areas

Since the onset of the monsoon, the process of rain continues in the state. There was heavy rain late at night in Khandwa and Morena including the capital Bhopal. There is a possibility of rain in many parts of the state today. According to the Meteorological Department, due to the formation of a pressure system in Jharkhand, there is a possibility of more rain in East Madhya Pradesh. There may be heavy rain in the districts of Rewa, Shahdol division. There is a possibility of rain and thundershowers in many districts of Bhopal, Hoshangabad, Gwalior, Chambal, Indore, Ujjain divisions. The Meteorological Department has predicted a wind speed of 20 km.

In the last 24 hours, many districts recorded rain. These include Tikamgarh 52.0 mm, Umaria 40.8 mm, Narsinghpur 7.0 mm, Mandla 36.0 mm, Khandwa 28.0 mm, Jabalpur 10.4 mm, Bhopal 0.1 mm, Gwalior 2.6 mm, Khajuraho 9.0 mm, Betul 4.2 mm, Rain was recorded in Sagar 13.8 mm, Naogaon 13.8 mm, Damoh 13.0 mm, Chhindwara 0.2 mm apart from Hoshangabad and Guna.

Delhi: Water fell in many areas of the state, 10 days wait for monsoon rains

It rained heavily in many areas of Delhi. Due to this, the weather became pleasant with the drop in temperature. However, people had to face traffic jams due to rain. There are many such areas of Delhi, which often get jammed after rain. Here, the Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert in Delhi on Thursday as well. Strong winds can also blow during this time. Earlier, the Meteorological Department had said that due to westerly winds, the speed of the monsoon has decreased. Delhiites may have to wait for 10 days for monsoon rains for now. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain in South-West Delhi, South Delhi (Ayanagar, Deramandi), NCR, and adjoining areas.

Chhattisgarh: 126mm of rain in the state so far, water will fall in many areas today

Light to moderate rain is likely in most areas of the state on Thursday. Heavy rain may occur in some districts including Raipur. Due to the effect of active monsoon in all parts of the state, the situation of rain is prevailing across the state. Monsoon has been good here so far. The state has received 126 mm of rain till June 16. This is 108% higher than the average. There is also a possibility of thunderstorms with heavy rain at one or two places in the state.

Maharashtra: Chance of heavy rain in 24 to 48 hours, the water level in Kolhapur's Panchganga rises

Heavy rain may occur in some areas in Maharashtra. IMD has predicted heavy rain in the next 24 to 48 hours. Mumbai's western suburbs and eastern suburbs received rain in the last 24 hours. Of this, Worli has received 128 mm, Colaba 100 mm, Malabar Hill 97 mm, Haji Ali 62 mm, BMC office 58 mm, Bhandup 9 mm, Goregaon 13 mm, Dindoshi 17 mm, and Andheri 34 mm.

Here, due to heavy rains, the water level of the Panchganga River in Kolhapur is increasing rapidly. The water level of the Panchganga river has increased by 10 feet in the last 24 hours. Presently the Panchganga river is flowing at 24 feet. Many small dams in rural areas have been submerged. On the Kolhapur-Gargoti road, the path of the small bridge of Mazgaon has washed away. A tree has fallen on the road near Gogawen in Shahuwadi taluka. The Bhadgaon bridge has been submerged and the Gadhinglaj-Chandigarh state highway has been closed.

Pre-monsoon rains in many areas of western Uttar Pradesh

There is a possibility of rain in many parts of East Uttar Pradesh today. Pre-Monsoon rains may occur over some parts of West Uttar Pradesh. There may be rain in some areas of Ghaziabad, Chhapraula, Noida in NCR. Apart from this, there will be rain with moderate intensity in the areas of Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Khatauli, Sakoti Tanda, Daurala. Rain has been recorded in Varanasi this morning as well.

It has been raining continuously in Bahraich for the last 4 days. Due to which the Ghaghra river has flooded. About ten villages on the banks of the river were submerged in water. Due to rain in Barabanki, the rate river is in spate these days. The water level of the river has already increased. Here, Gorakhpur has recorded 8.7 mm, Ballia 12.2 mm. The Meteorological Department said that we will have to wait for the monsoon to reach Lucknow.
