Big Facts of Facebook F8, from Facebook Secret Crush Features to Private Future

Facebook has made several announcements on the first day of its F8 Developer Conference. The full focus of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was on privacy this time. It is a coincidence that on the same day last year, WhatsApp Founder Jen Kume resigned. The reason was the privacy of users' data. Now, Zuckerberg is also talking a lot about the privacy of user data.

However, Mark Zuckerberg has said that the future is private. During the Canon session, announcements have been made to bring some changes and new features in Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger. Apart from this, the company also told about Oculus Quest and Rift S Virtual Reality Headset.

Facebook Redesign

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg called FB5 as the new update of Facebook. Groups and events have been highlighted in this update. That is, after joining a group, you will get personalized news feeds that will be of your knowns and friends. There, you will also get group interaction options.

Meet New Friends option will also be available in which there will be unknown people, but only interested ones. Such as school or institution, this way it will be easy to find friends. Apart from this, you'll also be updated regarding the information on nearby events.

This feature will be updated immediately for Android and iPhone users, but it'll take a few months for the desktop site.

Instagram

There are also announcements for Instagram during Facebook F8. Now you will get the option of Create Mode in the Instagram camera interface. Under this, it will be easy to add content in photos and it will be shared better.

There is a special focus on the Instagram for shopping. Now people can buy products within the app under the shopping feature. Just open the app and it will be possible to shop here.

Instagram is testing a special feature which can be liked by the people who like privacy. Under this feature, the likes will be hid from a user's feed. The company's logic behind this is that by hiding the likes of photos or videos, the focus of the user will be on the photos or videos that are fully shared, and not how much of that photo or video has been liked. These features will be currently offered to people in Canada for trial and if it goes popular then it will be released in other countries later.

Messenger

Facebook F8 has also announced new features and redesign of Messenger. The company is redesigning messenger. Here, status messages can be set and sharing photos is easier than ever. The special thing is that the new version of Messenger will be within 30MB, i.e. 20% less than the previous version.

Facebook is also launching Messenger for this year's desktop, so that the standalone messenger without browser can also be used on the desktop.

— The Messenger will be fast and lite, which the company calls lite speed.

— Encryption is defaulted.

— New area of content where content of close friends and family will appear.

— The two people can watch Facebook videos together while chatting on Messenger.

Facebook 'dating' feature

Facebook introduced this feature of Hook Up in F8 last year, but now the company has said that it is being launched in 14 countries. There is a feature called Secret Crush. Here, you can create a secret list of Facebook Friends. If the other person does not have a dating profile yet you can do this. If the person in front also use the Secret Crush option and add you to their list then Facebook will tell you.

Sales of Oculus Rift S and Oculus Quest from next month

Facebook has reported the sale of virtual reality headset Oculus Rift S and Oculus Quest. These two new headsets will be sold from May 12 and this time they will be sold in 22 countries.
