Real estate company Supertech got a major setback from the Supreme Court on Tuesday. In fact, the Supreme Court has held Apex and Ceyane of the Emerald Court project located at Noida Express of Supertech illegal and ordered the demolition of both the 40-story towers. The apex court has ordered the company to refund the money along with interest to the flat buyers.

Demolish illegal towers within two months: Supreme Court

In its judgment, the Supreme Court said that Supertech in Noida has violated norms in the construction of twin towers consisting of around 1,000 flats at Emerald Court and the company will have to break these at its own cost within a period of two months. Apart from this, the Supreme Court has ordered the Central Building Research Institute (CBRI) to demolish the towers so that full security can be taken care of.

Flat owners will have to return the money with 12 percent interest

The Supreme Court ordered Supertech to refund all the flat owners of Twin Towers in Noida with 12 percent interest. The court has also directed the builder to pay Rs 2 crore to the Resident Welfare Association. The bench observed that there was collusion between the Noida Authority and the builder in violation of the norms. The bench said in the judgment that illegal construction should be dealt with strictly.

Other buildings should not be damaged: Supreme Court

The judgment stated that during the demolition, buildings nearby the towers should not be damaged. Let us tell you that Justice DY Chandrachud, Judge MR Shah heard the case in the Supreme Court.

The hearing was also held on August 3

The apex court had reserved its decision in the last hearing on August 3. At that time too, the Noida Authority was reprimanded by the court. The court had said that the authority should behave like a government regulatory body and not like a private body to protect the interests of anyone.

In the year 2014, the Allahabad High Court had also given instructions to demolish the towers

Let us inform that in the year 2014, the Allahabad High Court had also directed the demolition of these towers, which has now been accepted by the Supreme Court as well.
