Digital payments are being promoted nationwide, but thugs have made it a new medium to fill their pockets. With the help of which he cheats people. A case of fraud has come to light through the digital payment app in Mumbai, where a banker has lost 87 thousand rupees through the digital payment app. Actually, investment banking analyst Radhika Pare bought three beers online by paying through the UPI-based digital payment platform, which led to his losing money.

According to reports, Radhika took the help of Google search to buy beer. He called a contact number registered on Google for Star Wine Shop. After which the store employee asked him to pay Rs 420 through Google Pay and asked for his UPI ID.

When Radhika revealed her ID, she received a request for payment on Google Pay, which was deducted from her account at Rs 29,001 on receipt. When he complained about this on the same number, the person talking on the phone apologized to him and after keeping the call, 58 thousand rupees were deducted from his account. In this way, a total of 87 thousand rupees were deducted from his account.

Radhika Parekh gave this information to the police. When the police reached the shop, it was found that the number on which Radhika had called was not the owner of the shop, the police registered a case and are investigating it. But many such cases have come to light, in which thugs are cheating people and emptying their bank accounts.

Actually, criminals use a trick present in Google Maps to defraud people. Details of various places on Google Maps can be edited. The thugs use it to edit the contact number of the shop or bank etc. and enter their number. Which people consider the bank or shop number and call it.

Significantly, when you search a place, shop or bank on Google Maps, there is also an option to edit its details. Hackers go to this option and edit the contact number etc. details. When people call that number, they talk to him as a bank employee or shop worker and cheat him. A similar case came to light in May this year, in which a digital wallet of a man named Anil Padam Singh was stolen from a digital wallet. The young man had called a finance company for the EMI of the new phone.

At the same time, some similar cases are also coming from OLX websites. Where criminals are cheating people by becoming customers or sellers. For this also he uses digital payment platforms. Criminals send payment requests to people, after which they steal money from their bank.
