Bengaluru, popularly known as the startup capital of India, has added another milestone. Bengaluru has become the only city in the country to be included in the world's top-30 startup ecosystem ranking. Bengaluru is ranked 26th in this ranking.
According to the 'Global Startup Ecosystem Report -2020' released by Startup Genome, California's Silicon Valley ranks first in the top-30 startup ecosystem. In this ranking, the nation's capital Delhi has been ranked 36th. In the Top-100 Emerging Ecosystem Rankings, Mumbai has won the first place. Startup hubs like Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune are also included in this ranking.
According to the report, startups in Bengaluru get good facilities and financial activities. That is why it is ranked among the Top-30. Delhi has been included in this ranking based on the complexity and number of patent creations. California's Startup Genome analyzes early-stage startups around the world and selects the most successful globally.
London ranked second in the top-30 startup ecosystem rankings due to access to capital, investment and global talent. When the rankings were first released in 2012, London was ranked eighth. JF Gothier, founder of Startup Genome, says the list includes the best cities in the world where startups are achieving success globally.
