Belgium Crowned as ‘FIFA Team of the Year’ for the Second Time

Belgium has won the award for the 'FIFA Team of the Year' for the second time in a row. Football's regulatory body – FIFA has awarded Belgium. Belgium currently occupies the top place in the FIFA World Rankings. World champions France and Brazil are at second and third place respectively. There has been no change in the top three spots but there have been changes in the top five.

England has moved up one place to number four, while Uruguay has moved up two places to number five. Belgium had won the 2015 and 2018 Best Team of the Year awards. Belgium has won all 10 of their A-level matches this year and qualified for the UEFA Euro-2020.

Apart from Belgium, Asian champion Qatar has been selected for the 'Mover of the Year-2019' award. Qatar has scored 138 points in 25 matches since the FIFA rankings of December 2018. Qatar won 16 of these 25 matches, played two draws and lost seven. The team became the Asian champions by defeating Japan 3–1 in the final of the Asian Cup earlier this year. Qatar has improved its rankings by 38 places and is currently ranked 55.
