The security arrangements made for the Republic Day parade are going to have an impact on some services of the Delhi Metro as well. In view of this, DMRC has issued an advisory for its passengers. According to this, due to security reasons, all parking lots of metro stations in Delhi-NCR will be closed from 6 am on Saturday morning to 2 pm on Sunday. Regular vehicles standing in the parking lot will also be checked. Also, no new car will be allowed to park.

As far as the impact on metro services is concerned, during the Republic Day parade on January 26, metro services will be affected at some places due to security reasons. Under this, there will be some changes in the schedule of metro services on Yellow Line and Violet Line on Sunday. Entry-exit facility at the Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhavan metro station will be closed from 12 am to 12 noon on Sunday morning.

No entry-exit on Patel Chowk and Lok Kalyan Marg

Like, entry-exit facility will not be available at Patel Chowk and Lok Kalyan Marg Metro stations from 8:45 am to 12 noon. Although trains will stop at the Central Secretariat station during this time and people will be able to interchange between the Yellow and Violet Line inside the station, but no one can come in and out of the station. The remaining three stations will not stop trains till 12 noon.

All Metro stations of Violet Line will remain open throughout the day, but some gates of four stations ITO, Delhi Gate, Jama Masjid and Red Fort will remain closed for entry-exit till 12 noon. Gate numbers 3, 4 and 6 of ITO station, gate numbers 1, 4 and 5 of Delhi Gate station, gate number 4 of Red Fort station and gate numbers 3 and 4 of Jama Masjid station will remain closed during this period. But from the rest of the gates, people will be able to come inside these stations.

For the convenience of people going to Rajpath to watch the Republic Day parade, Metro services will be started at all the corridors of Metro Phase-3 at 6 am instead of 8 am on Sunday so that people can reach Rajpath on time.

Corridors on which the metro will start from 6 am on Sunday, Dilshad Garden-Shaheed Sthal Corridor of Red Line, Jahangirpuri-Samaypur Badli Corridor of Yellow Line, Noida City Center of Blueline-Noida Electronic City Corridor, Mundka of Green Line- Brig Hoshiar Singh Corridor, Badarpur Border-Raja Nahar Singh Corridor of Violet Line, Majlis Park-Mayur Vihar Pocket-1 Corridor of Pink Line and Shiv Vihar-Trilokpuri / Sanjay Lake Corridor, Janakpuri West-Botanical Garden Corridor of Magenta Line and Dwarka-Najafgarh Corridor of Gray Line.
