The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) relieved Rahul Johri from his services as CEO last week. The board asked him to step down via email. At the same time, the BCCI has decided to appoint Hemang Amin as the interim CEO of the board. Board employees were informed about the arrangement on Monday. According to the reports, a BCCI official said that this was the right move at this time, as Amin has been one of the most hardworking BCCI activists over the years." The official further said, "He is the right man for this post. To be honest, his contribution to BCCI has been ahead of Rahul Johri and he did the real work for most of BCCI's business deals."
A former official working with Hemang Amin said that he is an honest activist who works for the BCCI over the years. He said, "Being competent and honest, he wants the best interests of the BCCI."
According to the sources in BCCI, "Until a new CEO takes over, the board has asked Amin to handle CEO's role for an interim period. The board will discuss on the appointment of new CEO, advertisement will be given. The applications will also be invited for the post in coming days. A new CEO will only take charge after nearly two months.
Let us tell you that Hemang Amin is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of IPL and played a major role in deciding not to hold the inauguration ceremony of the IPL last year.
