Eid-ul-Azha, the biggest festival of Muslims, will be celebrated in Kashmir today. Keeping this festival of Eid in mind, the administration has issued guidelines in almost all the districts of Kashmir. There has been a ban on offering congregational prayers in Idgahs and other major shrines. District administration Bandipora has allowed Eid prayers till 7:30 am. It has been said in the instructions that prayers will not be allowed in any Idgah, while the time has been fixed for Namaz in the rest of the mosques. The Head of Community Medicine, Srinagar Medical College, Dr. Salim has asked to strictly follow the guidelines on the occasion of Eid. He said that only those butchers should go to the houses to slaughter the sacrificed sheep, which have got the vaccine because they can become carriers of corona infection.

The army organized Eid-Milan in the Machil sector before Bakrid

The Machil Brigade of the Army organized an Eid Milan program to share happiness with the people a day before Bakrid in the Machil sector, adjacent to the LoC with Pakistan. Officers of Commander 53 and 56 RR greeted the people of Machhil ahead of Eid and joined them in their joy.

They offered Namaz together in Idgah and asked for special prayers for peace and harmony. All the villagers attended the banquet organized by the army and enjoyed wajwan (Kashmiri traditional food). Later, army officers distributed gifts to the people. Idi was also distributed among the orphan children.
