Kartar Singh Sonkhle Honored with the Padma Shri Award

Kartar Singh Sonkhle of Mirpur district has been honored with the Padma Shri award by President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday. There is a wave of happiness across the district with this award received by the artist of Hamirpur. Sonkhle is in Delhi with his wife Sunita Devi and son Ketan Sonkhle. Kartar Singh, who made bamboo artifacts in glass bottles, had directly applied to the central government for the Padma Shri award. His name was selected by the Central Government for the Padma Shri award on January 25 this year.

Kartar Singh bamboo artifacts

Kartar Singh is trying to preserve extinct art by making artefacts on bamboo. Kartar Singh organizes exhibitions by making bamboo artifacts to fulfill his hobby. Kartar is known for making artifacts like the Eiffel Tower, Taj Mahal, God's statues from bamboo. Kartar is fond of making such models since childhood. He was born on 1st April 1959 in Tappa Nara, Subdivision Nadaun.

He has also been given the title of Grandmaster

He retired in March 2019 from NIT Hamirpur after serving as a pharmacist. Earlier, Kartar Singh has also been given the title of Grandmaster by the Asia Book of Records. His name is also recorded in the Indian Excellence and India Book of Records. There is also a record of making a temple inside a bottle with pieces of bamboo in his name.

Kartar Singh's Education Qualification 

The Padma Awards were announced by the Government of India on the occasion of Republic Day. Kartar Singh of Himachal Pradesh will receive the Padma Shri award. On Tuesday, information about receiving the award was received from the Prime Minister's Office. After this, there is an influx of those congratulating his house. Kartar Singh is a resident of Nauhangi, village panchayat of Nadaun in Hamirpur. He is being rewarded for his bamboo artifacts. He retired in March 2019 after serving at NIT Hamirpur. After that Kartar Singh took steps towards fulfilling his hobby.

For these achievements, the Government of India is giving him the Padma Shri award, one of the highest Padma awards. Kartar Singh was born on 1 April 1959 in Tappa Nara, Subdivision Nadaun. He studied up to class 10th from Government School Galod and after that studied Pharmacist. Kartar Singh was appointed in NIT Hamirpur in October 1986 after completing his studies as a Pharmacist from the Health Department. He retired from NIT Hamirpur in March 2019 after serving here for a long time.
