Braj Basi Lal was Born in 1921 in the Jhansi district of Uttar Pradesh. B.B Lal's age is now 100 years old. He has also been honored with Padma Bhushan before Padma Vibhushan, the country's second-highest civilian award.
He received this honor in the year 2000 during the government of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. After nearly two decades of this honor, it has been announced to give him the Padma Vibhushan.
It was he who discovered that there is a Ram temple in Ayodhya under the foundation of the Babri Masjid. His theory also helped a lot in the landmark Supreme Court verdict in the Babri Masjid case. However, eventually paved the way for the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya.
Later he also wrote a book- Rama His Historicity, Mandir, and Setu which became very popular. This book changed the course of the debate related to the Ayodhya dispute. Through these facts, the history of Hinduism, which had been vanished, went a long way in reviving it.
He had excavated the Old Fort of Delhi about 67 years ago in which many ancient remains were found. These remains were later preserved. This was the first excavation in 1953 after the country's independence. Here again, the excavation work was done under his leadership in 1969-73. Actually he was trying to find out about Indraprastha, the grand capital of the Pandavas.
Professor B.B Lal had rejected the Arya-Dravidian theory and proved it to be false. He had also faced criticism from the Left intellectuals. Despite constant criticism, he stood by his opinion. However, through books and research papers he gave a new shape to the history of Hindutva.
He found Terracotta toys and painted bowls in 1953-54 and then 1969-73. The relation of these two is believed to be from 1200 to 800 years ago. However, Similar evidence was found in the recent excavation done in 2018.
The contribution of Professor BB Lal in the field of archaeological excavation is considered remarkable. He received the Padma Vibhushan award at the age of 100. However, many personalities from various fields have congratulated Professor BB Lal.
