After the announcement of the dates for the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP suffered several major setbacks one after the other in the last two days. In yet another episode, on Wednesday, OBC leader Dara Singh Chauhan resigned from Yogi Adityanath's cabinet. In the last 48 hours, not one or two, but 6 MLAs have left the BJP. However, during this time one Congress MLA and one SP MLA have also joined BJP.

Political alliances are changing rapidly in UP

Within 24 hours of the resignation of cabinet minister Swami Prasad Maurya, another minister of the Yogi government, Dara Singh Chauhan, resigned from his post. Three MLAs believed to be Maurya's supporters also announced their resignation. At the same time, BJP MLA Avtar Singh Bhadana has also left the party and joined SP's ally RLD.

There were also reports of BJP MLA from Bhadohi, Ravindra Nath Tripathi resigning from the BJP. However, MLA Tripathi termed it as a rumour. An FIR has been lodged on social media complaining that the fake letter of his resignation letter from the BJP has gone viral.

Two leaders have also joined BJP

In the meantime, two MLAs have also joined the BJP. MLA Naresh Saini and SP MLA Hari Om Yadav joined BJP on Wednesday. Hari Om Yadav is a relative of Mulayam Singh Yadav.
