The most talked-about candidates for Chief Minister in Punjab were Charanjit Singh Channi and Navjot Singh Sidhu, but the party expressed confidence in Charanjit Singh Channi and he was nominated for the Punjab Assembly elections. However, it was not an easy decision.
Rahul Gandhi said during a virtual rally in Ludhiana before announcing Charanjit Singh Channi's name that leaders are not born in 10-15 days and are not made by participating in TV debates. Rahul Gandhi gave Navjot Singh Sidhu advice in gestures with these words. Rahul Gandhi, on the other hand, stated that it was not his decision.

Don't treat me as though I'm a show-off’.
Sidhu has a history of feuding with previous Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and Charanjit Singh Channi. After Captain Amarinder Singh, the cricketer-turned-politician sought to be appointed Chief Minister. Charanjit Singh Channi, on the other hand, killed the bet. Since then, Sidhu has made every effort to encircle the Channi government. On several instances, he chastised the Channi regime.
