The Delhi government has currently got a train from the Railways for the Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Yojana. On Monday, a letter was received by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation to the government. In this, a train has been given for the pilgrimage to Rameshwaram pilgrimage site. On December 19, this train will take the elderly to Rameshwaram and will return on December 26.

A senior Delhi government official says that the railway has given only one train schedule. It is expected that a schedule of some more trains will be issued by the Railways. Earlier, Railways had sent a letter to the government on December 10 informing them about the cancellation of the proposed trains for the pilgrimage scheme, after which Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia met Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on December 12 to provide trains for the journey.

On December 10, the Railways cancelled the train for the scheme

The Chief Minister's pilgrimage scheme is going on postpone from December 10. The schedule of 30 trains was finalized for December-January. Following the demand of the Deputy Chief Minister, a train schedule has been given by the Railways for Rameswaram on Monday itself. Officials say that the Delhi government wants to provide as many trains as were scheduled for December-January. However, this time it is unlikely that more trains will be able to go. The government says that in those days the number of trains will be given by the railway, the government will send the elders on pilgrimage in those days.

The scheme started from July 12, 32 thousand people have done pilgrimage

In the last five months more than 32 thousand people have gone on pilgrimage under this scheme started from July 12 and applications of more than 30 thousand people are pending. So far, 32,828 passengers have traveled. Around 63,432 people have registered for the pilgrimage. The first train under this scheme took passengers on 12 July. Since then, 34 trains have gone on pilgrimage carrying passengers. As many as 30 trains were to leave in the next two months. There were 12 trains in December and 18 trains in January.
