Congress MLA and former Speaker of Karnataka Legislative Assembly Ramesh Kumar has given a very objectionable statement regarding women. His statement is quite embarrassing. In this shameful statement of Ramesh Kumar said that when rape is bound to happen, then lie down and have fun. After this statement, now there is a demand to take action against him. Many MLAs wanted to speak during the discussion on the damage caused by rains and floods in the House while talking about the plight of the people in their constituencies. This statement embarrassed each and every person sitting there. On which the request is being raised to punish him for the false and derogatory lines he spoke.

In April 2014, while opposing the death sentence to three men convicted in a gang-rape case, Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav had said, "Boys will be boys, they make mistakes."
He even accused the girls of rape saying that girls become friends with boys and when they fight and have differences they call it rape. In 2015, KJ George, the then Home Minister of Karnataka, courted a controversy with his remark that two men raping a woman could not be called gang rape, drawing severe criticism from parties and activists. When the media asked him about the rape of a BPO employee, he gave an insensitive and controversial statement. The driver and helper of Tempo Traveler gang-raped a 22-year-old girl. In 2013, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said in Kolkata that the increasing number of rape cases was linked to the growing population.

Former Union Coal Minister Shriprakash Jaiswal while speaking at a poetry meeting had said that women lose their attractiveness after a few years of marriage.
Jaiswal at a women's college said, "New new victories and new marriages have their distinct feel. As time passes, the memory of victory will get old. After India won their match against Pakistan in the T20 championship." And a new marriage is important in itself. As time passes, the joy of victory fades away, as the wife grows old and loses her charm."
