India's javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has won the gold medal for the country for the first time in Olympic athletics. With this victory, this army subedar has ended a chapter of British rule.

In fact, when India was ruled by the Britishers, Norman Pritchard won two medals in Olympic athletics in 1900 while playing for British India. Since then, whenever there was a discussion about the first medal in athletics, the name of this player of the British government used to come up.

But on 7 August 2021, 22-year-old army Subedar Neeraj Chopra has closed this British chapter forever on the strength of a spear. Now the people of the country will take the name of this gold medalist in Olympic athletics with pride.

PM Modi Congratulated Neeraj

Neeraj was directly appointed as Naib Subedar in the army
