The Indian Army is celebrating its 72nd day today. During this, soldiers of the country were honored for their gallantry and valor at the Cariappa Parade Ground at Delhi Headquarters on Army Day. During this time, many emotional pictures came out. Family members of the martyred soldiers also attended the ceremony and received the medal. Army President Manoj Mukund Narwane awarded the regiments and the battalion with medals. Lieutenant General KM Cariappa took over as the Commander-in-Chief of the Army in place of General Francis Butcher, then this Army Day is being celebrated.

Lt General Ravindra Kumar successfully conducted a rescue operation with the help of an Advance Light chopper stranded in the Siachen Glacier in an operation last year. The Gallantry Medal was awarded for his indomitable courage and flying skills.

Major Harpreet Singh, 22 Rashtriya Rifles (Punjab Regiment) during a search operation in Jammu and Kashmir on September 2018, while fleeing without caring for his life, killed the terrorist from a very close range. He was awarded the Army Medal (gallantry) for this heroic act.

Major Chitresh Bisht (55 Engineer Regiment) was posthumously awarded the Army Medal of Valor. Major Chitresh Bisht successfully deactivated the IDs placed by enemies on the LoC on 16 February 2019. During this time he attained to Veeragati. In his place his father received the Army Medal (Bravery) Award.

Major Vikas Sehrawat, 14 Rashtriya Rifles (Armored Corps), encountered the enemy closely during a search operation in Jammu and Kashmir on 14 June 2018. During this time, he had to be out of operation at the last minute due to injuries from the terrorist's bullet. He was awarded the Medal of Valor for his indomitable courage and valor.

Capt. Prateek Ranjangaonkar, 42 Rashtriya Rifles (Assam Regiment), had staked terrorists from close range during the operation in Jammu and Kashmir in October 2018. He was awarded the Army Medal (gallantry) for bravery and leadership.

Nayak Suresh Singh was awarded the Army Medal. He is a member of the Rajput Regiment 44 Rashtriya Rifles. On August 3, 2018, a terrorist was killed despite being seriously injured during a search operation in Jammu and Kashmir.

Capt. Ashish Gedion Poudel, 3rd Parachute (Special Forces), on 18 October 2018, killed a militant, regardless of his life, despite indiscriminate firing on the Line of Control. He was awarded the Gallantry Medal for indomitable courage and outstanding leadership ability.

Havildar Shivram, 55 Rashtriya Rifles (Grenadiers), 17 February 2019, killed a terrorist despite being injured. He was posthumously awarded the Bravery Medal. Havildar's heroic wife Sunita Devi received the honor.

Sepoy Raman Kumar, 62 Rashtriya Rifles (Dogra Regiment), immediately took action when he saw his company commander fall into a ditch near the Line of Control on 1 June 2018. During this time he attained to Veeragati. Awarded posthumously gallantry medal for selfless service and courage. Mother Kamlesh Devi received the honor.
