Dengue is getting worse with the decrease in the cases of corona in Delhi. This week, 14 new cases have been reported in Delhi, which is the highest figure this year. The maximum number of cases in Delhi have come from the South Delhi Municipal Corporation area. 5 new cases have been found here this week.

While no new cases have been reported in Delhi Cantt and Railway area. According to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, 14 new cases have been reported in Delhi this week. So far this year, 82 new cases have been reported in Delhi.

Earlier 51 cases have been reported in the year 2020, 75 cases in the year 2019 and 78 cases in the year 2018. According to the corporation, this week, 2 in North MCD, 5 in South MCD, 2 in East MCD, 2 in New Delhi Municipality area, 3 new cases have been found after investigation.

According to the corporation, the problem of waterlogging has increased after the monsoon rains in Delhi, due to which mosquitoes are breeding. In the past, the larvae were found in many institutions during the campaign run by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

Chikungunya cases are increasing

Along with dengue, cases of malaria and chikungunya are also increasing in Delhi. However, their speed is very slow. According to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, 4 new cases of malaria have been reported this week. So far this year 36 cases have been reported.

Earlier, 53 new cases were reported in the year 2020, 131 in the year 2019, and 146 in the year 2018. At the same time, 2 new cases of Chikungunya have been reported this week. So far this year 23 new cases have been reported. Earlier till this time 28 cases were reported in the year 2020, 21 in the year 2019, and 44 in the year 2018.

Intensified campaign for prevention

North Delhi Municipal Corporation on Monday launched an awareness and fogging campaign in the Sadar Bazar area for the prevention of increasing Dengue, Malaria, and Chikungunya in Delhi.

In this regard, former Mayor Jai Prakash said that the North Delhi Municipal Corporation is working in various areas for the prevention of Dengue, Malaria, and Chikungunya. He said that the Domestic Breeding Checkers (DBC) of the Corporation and the employees of the Malaria Department are doing regular work for the prevention of Dengue, Malaria, and Chikungunya so that mosquitoes can be prevented from breeding. Jai Prakash appealed to the citizens not to leave garbage like broken pots, cups, utensils, tires, etc. on the roof and around the house in which rainwater can accumulate.
