S. Somnath was appointed to the post of ISRO Chief in January last year. His journey till here has been quite interesting.

India's Chandrayaan-3 has successfully landed on the moon after a journey of 40 days.

As soon as the landing took place, all the scientists including the ISRO chief were jubilant.

With the landing of Vikram Lander on the moon mission, India has created history in the field of space.

Behind the success of Chandrayaan-3 is the hard work of Project Director P Veeramuthuvel and his team at ISRO.

The entire operation of Chandrayaan-3 reaching from Earth to Moon has been completed under the supervision of ISRO Chief S. Somnath.

S. Somnath is considered an expert in several cases related to space engineering. He became the Chief of ISRO at the age of 57.
