Apple has begun production of iPhone 11 in India

The iPhone is a series of smartphones made by Apple Inc since 2007. It does many things that a computer can do, but is small enough to fit in someone's hands.

In the boost to the Make In India campaign, one of the world's largest companies Apple has begun production of its flagship iPhone 11 in India. As per latest reports, iPhone 11 will be produced in Foxconn plant near Chennai, reports Economic Times.

Before this, large number of Apple phones are assembled in China. The relation between US-China could be a reason why iPhone production, to some extent, has been shifted to Country India.

Apple plan to make the new iPhone in Chennai

Apple is said to be considering a plan to make the new iPhone at the Foxconn plant near Chennai. The unit used to produce the earlier iPhone SE, which was been withdrawn, according to ET report.

iPhone SE was the first smartphone made by Apple that was manufactured in India at a plant located near Bengaluru by Wistron. The company withdrawn the product from the market and company's main focus is on the remaining models of the iPhones, including: the iPhone SE 2, iPhone 7, iPhone XR, iPhone 8, and the new iPhone 11 series.

First time that Apple is manufacturing iPhone in India

According to the latest report, it is for the first time that Apple is manufacturing its top-of-the-line iPhone model in India. Earlier, the American company was manufacturing its 'budget' iPhone SE in the country. Also, the company is reportedly also planning to ship iPhone out of India in order to reduce its dependence on country China.

Prices for the phone have not been reduced in india as made in china iPhone 11 are also being sold in the india. Prices could be reduced later.
