Ingredients:
400g plain cake flour
10 grams cocoa powder
5 grams baking soda
A pinch of salt
115g butter without salt
330 g castor sugar
2 eggs
250 ml vegetable oil
1 tsp white vinegar
2 t spoon vanilla extract
250 ml (ml) buttermilk
2 tbsp red liquid food color
Frosting:
400 g Cream Cheese
115 grams butter
1 ½ t spoon vanilla extract
450 grams of icing sugar
How to make red velvet pastry:
1. Preheat oven to 180 C / 350F. Butter a baking tray (side and base) and dust with cocoa powder.
2. Take out the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
3. Put butter and sugar in a bowl and mix with electric beater or in a stand mixer until smooth.
4. Add eggs to it, mix only one egg at a time.
5. Add vegetable oil, vinegar, vanilla, buttermilk and red food color and whisk until smooth.
6. Now put dry ingredients in it. Whisk well to mix it. It should not contain lumps.
7. Divide the batter into a cake pan. Bake it 25 to 30 minutes, check with a toothpick, if it comes out clean then the cake is ready.
8. Let it remain in the cake pan for 10 minutes, after which take it out on a cooling rack and cool it.
9. Now decorate it with icing sugar and cream cheese.
