Israel has banned the entry of all foreign travellers due to the new variant of the coronavirus, Omicron. On Friday itself, the first patient infected with the Omicron variant was found in the country. It was only after this that Israel banned travellers from several South African countries.

Now, the entry of all foreigners has been banned in the country. According to the reports- The government has currently imposed a foreign passenger ban for 14 days. The ban has also come into force. It is the first country to ban the entry of foreigners.

According to the new rules, now if any vaccinated Israeli citizen comes back to the country, then he\she will have to undergo a corona test. Will have to be quarantined for 72 hours. At the end of the quarantine period, there will be a corona test again. All reports must come negative.

A person whose vaccination has not been completed will have to remain in quarantine for 7 days. After this, the negative report of the corona test will have to be shown.

The meeting was called on Saturday

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett had said in a cabinet meeting called on Friday to discuss the new variant – the new variant is more contagious and spreads faster than the delta variant. Information is being gathered regarding whether the vaccine is effective on Omicron or not. These are emergency-like situations. Be ready 24 hours a day.

Africa have started banning the arrival of planes and passengers

Britain, Saudi Arabia, Iran, the US and Sri Lanka have also imposed travel bans on several African countries. In order to deal with Omicron, seven-eight countries of Africa have started banning the arrival of planes and passengers.

No travel ban in India yet

India has not banned flights to any country so far, but passengers coming from some countries of Europe including South Africa, Brazil, Bangladesh, Botswana, China, Mauritius, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Singapore, Israel, Hong Kong and the UK will be given additional benefits. Safety standards have to be followed.

Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar said on Saturday that every person returning from South Africa will be quarantined upon arrival in Mumbai. Also, their samples will be sent for genome sequencing. At the same time, RT-PCR of such passengers will be necessary for Gujarat.
