A 25-year-old student studying at California State University in San Bernardino has been shot and killed by an unknown assailant. The deceased was studying computer science from the university. The student has been Identified as Abhishek Sudesh Bhat. He used to work part-time in a motel. The student was attacked while he was returning home from work. Her family members say they do not know the motive for the attack and the identity of the attacker. The body of Sudesh Chand's son Abhishek is kept in the Morchery of San Bernardino Hospital. Sudesh Chand is a yoga guru and runs the Sri Upanishad Yoga Center Trust in Kuvempunagar, Mysore.
The family is waiting for an official report from the Indian Embassy in the US. Sudesh has been running yoga centers for the last 16 years. Abhishek's cousin Srivatsa said he studied engineering at Vidya Vikas Engineering College in Mysore before moving to the US two years ago. Srivatsa said that a friend of Abhishek told the family that his son was shot dead by an attacker. This friend worked with the deceased in the same motel. A family member said the attacker has been captured in a CCTV camera mounted on the motel and US police are trying to identify the attacker.
The principal of California State University says that he has spoken to Abhishek's parents. On Facebook, Abhishek wrote that he has been appointed as an assistant to Doctor Ernesto Gomez at California State University's Bernardino College of Natural Sciences since October 31.
