The attacker was trying to escape from the spot, but was shot dead by the police. City Mayor Sam Liccardo called the incident a black spot on the city's history.

Most of the employees killed in Firing 

The Santa Clara Sheriff's Office said in a statement – most of the people killed are employees of the Transport Authority. They were preparing to go home after finishing duty in the morning. He was replaced by another staff. Police suspect that there may be some explosives inside this building, so the bomb disposal team has also been called to the spot. The help of sniffer dogs is also being sought.
