The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday suspended Ambati Rayudu from bowling in international cricket after he opted against getting his suspect action tested within the stipulated 14-day period. Rayudu was reported for a suspect action during the first ODI against Australia on January 13.

The suspension was done in "accordance with clause 4.2 of the ICC regulations" which deals with the legality of bowling actions.

"The suspension will remain in place until he is tested, and can demonstrate he is able to bowl with legal action," the world body stated.

The member of the Men in Blue Team Ambati Rayudu was suspended after some allegation put on him in the ODI Series against Australia. In which Indian Won the series after so many years that also breaks the record of the history.

However, according to Article 11.5 of the ICC regulations and with the consent of the BCCI, the 33-year-old is free to bowl in domestic cricket played under the auspices of the Indian Board.

The Andhra Pradesh cricketer is primarily a middle-order batsman and has a taken three wickets from the 121 ODI deliveries he has bowled in his 49-match ODI career so far.

He has been handed the ball on only nine occasions in the 50-over format and has never bowled in T20 Internationals.

Rayudu was used as a part-time bowler by Indian captain Virat Kohli in the ODI opener against Australia. However, his action came under the scanner and was reported after the match.

He was supposed to undergo a test of his action under 14 days but he failed to oblige and was subsequently suspended from bowling.  He will remain suspended until he can prove that he can bowl with legal action.

Rayudu has so far played 49 ODI matches for India and picked up three wickets at an average of 41.33 and economy of 40.33. He is currently the part of the Indian squad taking on New Zealand in the ongoing three-match series.
