Ambassadors of 16 Countries Arrived to Take Stock of Kashmir Situation

Ambassadors of 16 countries, including the Americans in India, arrived today i.e. Thursday to take stock of the situation in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Last year in October of 2019, a 27-member delegation of the European Parliament visited Kashmir. Many opposition parties objected to this.

This time the reasons for EU diplomats not attending the tour have not been officially confirmed yet. However, according to news agency ANI, according to sources in the Government of India, EU diplomats want to visit Jammu and Kashmir in a separate group, but it is not possible to make preparations right now. It is being reported that EU diplomats will be taken on a visit to Kashmir after some time.

According to the information, the Indian government is in touch with the European Union on the issue of diplomats visiting Jammu and Kashmir. The European Union has not been able to agree to be a part of this Jammu and Kashmir visit. According to central government sources, in fact, EU diplomats want to go to a separate group, but it is not possible to make such preparations in such a short time.

Diplomats from 16 countries, including US Ambassador to India Kenneth I. Juster, have come on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir from Thursday. This will be the first visit of diplomats after Jammu and Kashmir's special status was abolished last year. These diplomats from Delhi arrived in Srinagar by air on Thursday and from there they will go to Jammu. He will also meet the people of civil society along with Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu there. These will also include diplomats from Bangladesh, Vietnam, Norway, Maldives, South Korea, Morocco, Nigeria etc.

Officials said that the visiting diplomats on Thursday will meet members of civil society and they will be informed about the security arrangements by various agencies. Diplomats from several countries had requested the Indian government to be allowed to visit Kashmir to take stock of the situation after the removal of the provisions of Article 370. This step will help India to demolish Pakistan's propaganda on Kashmir issue.

India had approached the P-Five countries and the capitals of all the countries of the world and decided on the decision to repeal the provision of Article 370. Earlier, a delegation of 23 EU MPs was taken on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir by a Delhi think tank. However, the government had called it a private visit.

Significantly, since the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, many unwarranted allegations have been made against India by Pakistan. However, these allegations had no merit. Many countries, including the US and China, described it as an internal matter of India. Explain that in October, a 27-member delegation of the European Parliament also visited Kashmir, after which it is now the second tour of a foreign group.
