State Consumer Commission, Jaipur has imposed a compensation of Rs 40.42 lakh on Vijay Hospital and Dr. Vijay Pal Singh of Alwar in the case of a woman's death due to negligence in treatment. At the same time, 25 thousand rupees have been asked to be given separately as complaint expenses.
The commission said that nine percent interest should also be given from the date of filing the complaint on the damages amount. The Bench of Judicial Member SK Jain and Member Ramphul Gurjar gave this order on the complaint of Vikram Singh and others.
According to the case, the complainant's wife Kusum showed it to Dr. Vijay Pal on 7th September 2015 after she complained of pain in her stomach. The doctor told about the operation stating stones in the stomach. But the surgeon doctor himself gave anesthesia without ensuring that the patient was hungry, even though he was not an anesthesia specialist.
During this, the food item went into the lungs and the matter became complicated. This worsened the patient's condition. There was no ICU facility in the hospital and due to lack of proper treatment, the patient's condition continued to deteriorate. The patient was sent to another hospital in deteriorating condition and in the last moments, but there she was declared brought dead.
Challenging this negligence of the hospital and the doctor in the State Consumer Commission, he said that his wife had died due to their negligence. The State Consumer Commission, after hearing both sides, has imposed a compensation of Rs 40.42 lakh on the hospital and Dr. Vijay Pal Singh in the case of the woman's death due to negligence in treatment. At the same time, 25 thousand rupees have been asked to be given separately as complaint expenses.
