All India Muslim Personal Law Board Maintains its Stand on Ayodhya Issue

Apart from the stand of Muslim intellectuals, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board has categorically denied any compromise on the Ayodhya matter. During an important Board executive meeting held on Saturday at Nadwa College in Lucknow, it was hoped that the Ayodhya dispute will be decided in favor of Muslims in the Supreme Court. It has been decided to challenge the triple talaq law in the Supreme Court, considering it an interference in the Shari'a.

The board said that the Uniform Civil Code would create major problems not only for Muslims but also for other communities including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes.

Actually, the Ayodhya case in the Supreme Court is in the final stages. Two days ago in Lucknow, Muslim intellectuals had expressed their views on the Ayodhya issue. In that meeting, many people, including cardiologist Padmashri Dr. Mansoor Hassan, former minister Moeed Ahmed, retired IPS VN Rai, Luv Bhargava gave their views. They all want a solution to the Ayodhya issue out of court. He said that this would win both sides.

The intellectuals had said that if the Muslim parties win the case from the Supreme Court, then they should give this land to the Hindus. After this meeting, the meeting of All India Muslim Personal Law Board Executive was considered important. Not agreeing with these views, the Personal Law Board has categorically denied any agreement on the Ayodhya matter.
