On Tuesday, the Patiala House Court of Delhi ruled in the case of murder of Bahujan Samaj Party leader and businessman Deepak Bhardwaj. The court acquitted all seven accused, including Deepak Bhardwaj's son, in this case. Deepak Bhardwaj was killed in the year 2013.

The court acquitted all the accused for lack of evidence. Originally a resident of Sonepat, Haryana, Deepak was considered among the big businessmen of real estate. He came into the limelight when he contested on the BSP ticket from Delhi West Lok Sabha constituency. BSP leader Deepak had then declared his assets at six billion rupees in the affidavit filed with the nomination.

He was then at the top of the state's richest candidates. However, he had to be defeated in the election battle. Deepak was killed in the year 2013. On 26 March 2013, Deepak was shot dead by miscreants at his farm house in South Delhi. According to the police, Deepak was killed by paying a supari of Rs 5 crore.

Seven accused, including a son, were arrested for the murder of 62-year-old Deepak Bhardwaj, a real estate businessman in Delhi NCR. Deepak was staying at Lajwanti Gardens in West Delhi. His business includes real estate as well as a township project in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, schools in Dwarka, Delhi and hotels in Delhi, Gurugram.

According to sources, he also used to buy and sell the disputed property. After acquittal of the case, the court acquitted the killers for lack of evidence.
