Meanwhile, the National Organization of Bank Workers and National Organization of Officers associated with the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh and the bank unions attached to it have told that they are not involved in this strike. Explain that there are total 9 unions in the banking sector.

What did the bank say?

Although some other banks, including the country's largest bank SBI, claim that this strike will not have much impact on the customers of the bank, while some banks have also alerted their customers. Recently, SBI had said, 'The membership of our bank employees in the employees union involved in this strike is very less. In such a situation, the impact on the functioning of the bank will be very limited. "Similarly, the Bank of Maharashtra also feels that this strike will not affect the banking level.

However, Bank of Baroda did alert its customers. The bank had said that on the day of the strike, it is taking all necessary steps to normalize the functioning of its branches and offices. Another state-run syndicate bank said, "The bank has taken necessary steps for the normal functioning of its branches in the proposed strike. However, in the event of a strike, the functioning of bank branches and offices may be affected.'

What is the reason for the strike?

This strike has been called mainly to protest the merger of 10 banks of the government. Actually, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the merger of 10 banks in the past. After this, 4 new banks will come into existence. Andhra Bank, Allahabad Bank, Syndicate Bank, Corporation Bank, United Bank of India and Oriental Bank of Commerce will no longer exist. Bank union says that this merger will lead to jobs in banking sector. Apart from this, banks are also opposing the fall in rates on union deposits.

Banks will be closed for 4 days in the next 9 days

After this, on October 26, most of the country's banks will be closed due to Saturday. On the 27th of October, it is Diwali and Sunday. That is, on October 27, there will be a holiday for banks. After Diwali, due to Govardhan Puja on October 28 and Bhaiya Dooj on October 29, the opening of bank in many parts of the country may affect the functioning.
