The few weddings that will take place on the occasion of Akhtij on Sunday will also be in a very plain manner.

Ravi Jindal, Senior Vice President of All India Tent Dealers Welfare Association, said that 20,000 to 25,000 marriages in Rajasthan have been postponed due to Corona virus and lockdown. He said that Akha Teej or Akshaya Tritiya is the biggest wedding ceremony in Rajasthan. He said that there are about 55,000 tent houses or businessmen in Rajasthan and three lakh people are directly connected with the tent business. Apart from this, there are thousands of people arranging for event management, catering, lights etc.

Jindal said that the industry has lost at least Rs 12,000 crore due to postponement of weddings on Sunday. He said that only seven thousand to eight thousand marriages were to be held in Jaipur district, which has been postponed. An event management company official said, "Weddings have been postponed. Some marriages will be held in a simple program, for which many types of approvals are being sought from the administration. It is mandatory to maintain several conditions such as maintaining social distance and not attending the function of more than 20 people. "

On the other hand, Chairman of Marriage Garden Association, Rajasthan, Mohan Lal Aggarwal said that in the city of Jaipur, 1000 weddings in marriage garden (wedding venue) have been postponed. He said that there are about 1,000 wedding venues in Jaipur city, in which all the weddings that are due tomorrow are postponed. He said, "There are about 13,000 marriage gardens or wedding venues across Rajasthan with 90 per cent booking the wedding on Akhatij. About 10 thousand marriages have been postponed, in addition, thousands of weddings in homes, in Dharamshalas, community buildings and parks have also been postponed. "
