Some telecom companies have increased the prices of their prepaid plans and some are going to do so soon. Sector analysts say that the increase in prices will help telecom companies to increase revenue and soon these companies will also increase the prices of their postpaid plans.

At present, Jio has not announced the increased prices of the plans. Analysts believe that even after Jio announced a 40 percent increase in its mobile calls and internet charge, the company's plans will remain cheaper than its rivals.

Rate Increased after Five Years

Let us tell you that this is the first time in the last five years that telecom companies have increased prices. Earlier, tariff war was going on in the telecom sector. Due to this, calling became almost free in 2016 and data prices had dropped by 95 percent. The price of data was reduced from Rs 269 per GB in 2014 to Rs 11.78 per GB.

Analysts said that up to 50 per cent increase in prepaid plan prices by Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea (VIL) would help operators to increase their revenue.

Emkay Global has said in a report that, in the next few days, we expect Bharti Airtel and VIL to announce a change in the tariff of their postpaid plans. This information was given by the news agency PTI.

Bharti Airtel and VIL have announced a 15-50 percent increase in prepaid plans for the 'Unlimited' usage category. The new plans have been implemented from December 3 and existing customers of these plans will have to pay new rates after completing six months in their existing plans.
