Airtel and Vodafone-Idea have Extended the Validity of Prepaid Plans till 3 May

Telecom operators Airtel and Vodafone-Idea have extended the validity of prepaid plans till 3 May, giving relief to their millions of users.  The extended validity of the prepaid plans of these two companies was ending on 17 April i.e. today.  But now users will be able to take advantage of free incoming calls till 3 May.  At the same time, Reliance Jio, the third telecom company of the private sector, has not announced this at the moment.  Let us tell you that the lockdown due to coronavirus in the country has been extended by PM Modi till May 3.  After which the Telecom Authority (TRAI) had directed telecom companies to extend the validity.

Vodafone-Idea said that it will provide free incoming call facility to its 9 crore low income group users by 3 May.  At the same time, Airtel has a validity extension for its 3 crore low income group users.  In view of the nationwide pandemic caused by the coronavirus epidemic, telecom companies have announced this for their users so that users can talk on the phone with their relatives if they are unable to recharge their number.

During the first phase of the lockdown running from 24 March to 14 April, COAI had urged all the telecom companies to take this step for their users.  Airtel has also taken other steps for its users so that users do not have any problem in recharging their number during lockdown.  Apart from ATMs, Airtel has also provided the facility to recharge numbers from Big Bazar and Apollo Pharmacy in addition to ATMs.  At the same time, Jio users can also recharge their numbers from ATMs.

Earlier in the first phase of the lockdown, all the telecom companies had decided to extend the validity of their users.  It was started by the public sector company BSNL.  Extended validity of BSNL users is till 20 April.  The company offered free talk-time and free incoming calls of Rs 10 to all its users.  After this, all the private sector companies had announced free talk time and validity extension of Rs 10 to the users of the low income group.
