Government carrier Air India has added Navratri Special Foods to its menu to attract more passengers during Navratri. A statement issued by Air India said that during the nine-day festival from September 29 to October 7, special Navratri miles will be served to the passengers. Let us know that in an effort to tackle the financial crisis, Air India has planned to give low cost and low fat food to its crew, which PETA has also praised and the crew members as well as all domestic and international flights I urged to introduce the policy of serving vegetarian food to the passengers.

Regarding the inclusion of Navratri Special Foods in the menu, Air India said that potato-kattu pakoda, fruit compote, makhana dryfruit kheer, French fries, plain curd and tamarind chutney will be served to passengers on all domestic flights. The airline has also asked the authorities concerned to 'use rock salt in preparing all the dishes'. Air India has asked its officials to ensure supply of Navratri miles on all flights. Preparations for the Sharadiya Navratri have started. Navratri will run from 29 September to 8 October.

Earlier, PETA has praised the airline for its proposal to provide low cost and people fat food meals to its crew members in an effort to tackle the financial crisis by Air India. PETA India has sent a letter to Air India Chairman and Managing Director Ashwani Lohani urging him to initiate a policy of serving vegetarian food to all crew members as well as passengers on all domestic and international flights. PETA India has said that such a move will help the government's 'It Right India' initiative, cost cutting and conservation of animals and the planet.
