After Mamta Banerjee, Capt Amarinder Singh is the other Chief Minister of the country who has not gone to attend this important meeting. Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal also did not go to the Cabinet to attend the meeting. Such a policy was due to not being allowed by the commission. The reason for not being included in the meeting is that he is ill, but interestingly, Captain Amarinder Singh spent a week in his state in Himachal Pradesh and returned to Punjab on Thursday. On Friday evening, he was likely to go to Delhi, but he decided not to go to the meeting.
The government had urged the commission to replace the agenda of Finance Minister Manpreet Badal in Punjab, but the commission has made it clear that only Chief Minister can speak in the meeting. Therefore, no other minister can be allowed to join his place.
The matter has been raised to include landless farmers on behalf of Punjab in the Prime Minister's Kisan Samman Yojana. To raise the issue of farming crisis of farmers, the government can also demand a loan relief for them.
It was also speculated that after the meeting of the Captain Policy Commission, the Congress would also meet the high command. Captain and Navjot Singh Sidhu in Punjab are facing a lot of agony. Sidhu is angry with the change of department and is not joining his head. Sidhu has also met Rahul Gandhi about this issue, who had told Ahmed Patel about resolving the issue.
