Cuba's President Miguel Diaz Canal has appointed the Prime Minister in the country after more than 40 years. He has appointed Tourism Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz as Prime Minister. The post of Prime Minister was abolished in 1976 by the then revolutionary leader Fidel Castro.
It has been restored under the rules of the new constitution passed this year in the communist-ruled island. Marrero (66) will take over some of the responsibilities currently under the President's jurisdiction.
