The blast in Kandahar is shocking because it is a Taliban stronghold. That is, the stronghold of the ruling Taliban in the country is not safe. The terrorist organization ISIS continues to target Shias because it believes that Shias are traitors of Islam. ISIS supporters are Sunni Muslims.

There was an explosion in the Shia mosque of Kunduz last week

Earlier on October 8, it happened during Friday prayers at Shia Mosque in Kunduz province. In this, more than 50 people were killed and more than 100 people were injured. The terrorist organization IS-K had claimed responsibility for the attack. The blast was strongly condemned by the United Nations Security Council. The Security Council had said that the masters of terror need to be brought to justice. Terrorism has become an issue of peace and security for the international community.

Attack targeted both the Shia community and the Taliban

Taking responsibility for the incident, the IS-K affiliate Amaq News Agency had identified the attacker as an Uyghur Muslim and claimed that the attack targeted both the Shia community and the Taliban as the Taliban forced out Uyghur Muslims under Chinese pressure. Since the withdrawal of US and NATO forces, IS continues to challenge the Taliban's rule, targeting minority Shia communities and shrines.
