Bombay High Court has accepted the plea of Kangana Runout against the FIR lodged against her on Monday at Bandra Police Station. According to the report, the court will hear the petition on Tuesday. The actress has appealed to the Bombay High Court to quash the FIR.
Allegations of Division between Hindu and Muslim Artists
A petition was filed in the Bandra Metropolitan Magistrate’s court by the Bollywood casting director and fitness trainer Munawwar Ali Syed. He quoted Kangana’s tweet as saying in the petition, “Kangana has been continuously insulting Bollywood for the past few months by calling it a hub of nepotism and favoritism. By tweeting through her official Twitter handle and through TV interviews, she is causing division among Hindu Muslim artists. “
Accused of using Offensive Words for a Particular Community
On October 17, an FIR was registered against Kangana at the Bandra Police Station in Mumbai on the order of the local court. Both sisters are accused of using offensive words for a particular community and inciting people associated with a particular community.
Kangana Runout and Rangoli Chandel Summoned Thrice
Mumbai Police has sent a summons to Kangana Runout and Rangoli Chandel thrice so far. But she did not appear for a single time. The two were first summoned on 26 October, then on 3 November, the Mumbai Police asked them to appear. But both times she did not appear, citing her brother’s marriage.
Kangana approaches Bombay High Court
On November 18, Kangana and her sister Rangoli Chandel were summoned for the third time. Kangana was scheduled to appear on November 23 and her sister Rangoli Chandel on 24 November. But instead of appearing before police, Kangana approached Bombay High Court.
FIR Registered under Section 156 (3)
Metropolitan Magistrate, Bandra, Jaydev Y Ghule ordered an inquiry against Kangana by registering an FIR under Section 156 (3) of the CRPC. Taking action on this, the police had registered a case against Kangana and her sister under various sections.
