Action has been taken against 32 employees of Tihar Jail involved in the Unitech case. Also, 30 employees have been suspended, while two contractual employees have been sacked. In the report of news agency ANI, this information has been given by quoting the jail officer.

Delhi Police Crime Branch had registered a case

The Delhi Police Crime Branch had also registered a case against them. This action has been taken in the case of Unitech promoters Sanjay Chandra and Ajay Chandra running illegal activities from jail. On 26 August 2021, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a status report in the Supreme Court regarding the Chandra brothers.

However, it was said that the Chandra brothers are running their business by staying in jail and have also opened their office in the jail itself. There is the connivance of the officials of Tihar Jail in this. After this, on the orders of the top court, both the brothers were sent to Arthur Road Jail and Taloja Central Jail in Mumbai.

Commissioner Rakesh Asthana submitted his report to the Supreme Court

The top court had asked the Delhi Police Commissioner to investigate the matter himself. However, commissioner Rakesh Asthana submitted his report to the Supreme Court after the investigation. On the basis of the investigation report, on October 6, the court had asked to register a case in this matter. On October 12, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police has registered a case against the officials of Tihar Jail under the Prevention of Corruption Act in this case. The court had asked the officials of Tihar Jail to be suspended till the investigation is done. In the initial investigation, 32 such officers of Tihar Jail were found, who have been found with the Chandra brothers.
