Here, the state government also decided to constitute a high-level Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by an Inspector General of Police (IGP) level officer to probe the incident. The Nagaland government has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of 14 people killed in the alleged firing. After this incident, many organizations have demanded immediate withdrawal of AFSPA (Armed Forces Special Powers Act) implemented in Nagaland.
