Covid-19 is living in a state of near-lockdown amidst the rising case of Covid-19. We are in this situation in our house and are taking care of social distancing on exit. We can protect ourselves by following rules and isolation. In such an environment it is very important to protect your car as well as your safety. So that it will be in working condition.

Park safely

Always park your car in a covered area to avoid direct sunlight and damage to the car. Never park your car on the slope as it is prone to malfunction in liquids like transmission oil or clutch oil. As such, indoor parking is the best option to park a car. But if you want to park outside, then use the car cover. Wash the car regularly to avoid dust and dirt.

The battery malfunctions even when the vehicle is not in use. To avoid it being discharged, make sure to start your vehicle once a week and keep it on for at least 10-15 minutes. If this is not possible, disconnect the battery from the negative terminal. By doing this, you will not get shocked when you start the vehicle suddenly.

Do not apply the handbrake

Applying the handbrake can jam the brakes when the car is parked for a long time. Instead, park the car in gear. It is best to put a piece of wood or stone on the wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling.

It works best when the engine of the vehicle keeps running. If the vehicle is forced to remain closed for long periods, such as in lockdown, start the car for a few days and operate all systems including the air conditioner. This will help keep it in good shape. Also, try to move your car forward and backwards, so that it does not remain stationary for very long. This will also help prevent flat spots on the tires from happening.

Fuel check

Moisture is added to the fuel tank due to not driving for long. In such a situation it is advisable to fill the tank. This important function will prevent your car's seal from drying out and it won't rust in the long run.

Save the car from Rodents

Rodents spoil the plastic parts and wiring of your vehicle. To avoid this, park your car in a clean place. Every 3 to 4 days, keep moving the car back and forth slightly.
