8 New Cases of Coronavirus Reported in Goa, Treatment of 46 Infected Patients going on

Today, 8 new cases of corona virus have been reported in Goa. An Indian Coast Guard officer and another woman were found infected with Covid-19. A total of 46 infected people are under treatment in the state. A Health Department official said that the officer of the Coast Guard was part of an 11-member team from Mumbai to Goa.

He said that the other 10 members of the team have been examined and are not infected but have been isolated. In samples from a woman came from Pune to Goa infection has been detected by a Quick test. The samples have been sent to Goa Medical College for re-confirmation.

She came to Goa along with 21 other people, all the rest are non-infected and have been kept in isolation. Till Tuesday evening, 39 patients were under treatment in the state, now this number has increased to 41 with two new cases, whereas no one has died due to infection. He said the teenagers were found to be drinking and partying at a secluded spot on Ashweem Beach on Sunday in violation of lockdown rules and other government restrictions, which were later taken into custody. Citing personal information written on the passport, Deputy Superintendent of Police Gajanan Prabhudesai said that all Russians detained by Pernem police are minors. He said that all of them, including some girls, were taken into custody on Sunday.

Prabhudesai said that a case has been registered against him for drinking liquor in public place and violation of lockdown rules. He said that the full details of these minors have been submitted to the Juvenile Justice Board, which handles cases related to minor offenders. The police officer said that the Russian consulate will also be informed. A video has also surfaced on social media showing policemen detaining Russian teenagers.
