78 Charge Sheets Filed in Delhi Riot Case, 410 Arrested

The police have so far filed 78 charge sheets in the North East Delhi riot case, at the same time 164 and 142 people from both communities have been arrested and a charge sheet is filed against all of them, while the Crime Branch has also arrested 41 and 63 people from both communities and filed a charge sheet against all. Over all, 205-205 people from both communities have been arrested so far and charge sheets have been filed against all.

Earlier on Friday, two charge sheets were filed, on which the court will take cognizance on 18 June, these charge sheets have been filed by the Crime Branch of Delhi Police in Karkardooma Court, whereas these charge sheets have been filed on two separate FIRs filed at Gokulpuri police station. Within the last three days, Delhi Police has filed six charge sheets in the case related to riots in Delhi in Karkardooma Court. These include the charge sheet related to the riots allegedly carried out in Delhi by Tahir Hussain and the murder of IB employee Ankit Sharma, apart from these 6 charge sheets, the Delhi Police has also filed a charge sheet regarding the riots accused Shahrukh Pathan.

Shahrukh Pathan, accused in the Delhi riots, has filed a bail application in the Delhi High Court on the basis of treatment and operation of his father. He has said in his application that his father's knee is to be transplanted, so they should give him bail. At the same time, the bail application was opposed during the hearing in the High Court and a status report was filed in the court on behalf of the Delhi Police, which stated that at the stage at which the investigation is currently going on, giving bail to Shah Rukh Pathan may result harmful for the case. The Delhi High Court has sought a medical report from the hospital treating his father and deferred further hearing till 8 June. Earlier, the lower court had dismissed the bail application of Shahrukh Pathan, whereas, it should be noted that Shah Rukh Pathan is accused of stretching a pistol at a policeman during the Delhi riots.
